Sandpiper Prospect

The Sandpiper prospect is a Miocene Rob L test of the Block 386-S Field and will be drilled from the Snipe prospect platform in Galveston Block 307-L. The prospect is a simple structural closure, the high point of the Rob L reservoir at Block 386-S Field, which produced 46 BCF from the Rob L. Mobil discovered the field in 1972 before the availability of 3D seismic data.

Sandpiper has six objectives, all productive either within the field or nearby, and should have attic accumulations in several of these sands. The combined potential reserves of the six targets are .71 to 1.94 BCF of natural gas net to KEI. KEI will have 12.5% working interest in the project. KEI's proportionate estimated costs are US$12,500 for land, US$341,125 drilling and, if successful, US$330,625 for completion.
